KEY TEXT:
Though an army may encamp against me, My heart shall not fear; Though war may rise against me, In this I will be confident.
Psalms 27:3 NKJV
David is basically saying that his confidence in life is heightened when war rises against him. Who is confident in the midst of troubles? When i read the scripture at first I was confused but the Holy Spirit broke it down to me in the following manner.
The level of battles that come our way as believers is dependent on the inner strength and abilities that God has placed in us.
It is often said, “you don’t know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have”
God never gives us battles that are beyond us.
“No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it”
I Corinthians 10:13 NKJV
If God has allowed your present situation to happen, be confident because you possess an undiscovered strength in you to overcome it.
Am sure when David woke up and saw the battles and challenges confronting him, it would trigger his inner confidence to fight and win with the help of God.
We are confident men because, the more the challenges, the more strength we discover in us to overcome.
You remember the report the other spies presented to Moses after scouting the land???
They saw giants and the descendants of Anak but this what the confident man Caleb said-“But Caleb tried to quiet the people as they stood before Moses. “Let’s go at once to take the land,” he said. “We can certainly conquer it!”
Numbers 13:30 NLT
Beloved, why God will not bring this far to fail you. The reason all of us don’t face the same challenges is because our strengths differ. You have enough strength to fight and win with God on your side. Never loose your confidence in the face of adversities. Hebrews declares “So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you!
Hebrews 10:35 NLT
In Christ we are confident men.We are overcomers.
