GOD OF OPPORTUNITIES

KEY TEXTS: Then let the young woman who pleases the king be queen instead of Vashti.” This advice appealed to the king, and he followed it.
Esther 2:4 NIV

There is something called divine opportunity that God gives His children.When a man’s way pleases the Lord,He is able to bring others down for a vacancy to be created for us-Divine opportunity.God really loves us beloved.Indeed we are the apple of His eye.His word says;
-“For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, Nor from the south. But God is the judge: He putteth down one, and setteth up another”
Psalm 75:6‭-‬7 KJV

When God tells the believer that” I will help you”-Isaiah 41:30-He means it.King Saul had to be brought down for the shepherd boy to be given an opportunity. “He putteth down one,and He setteth up another”.

Queen Vashti had to demonstrate gross disrespect to the king just for that ordinary Jew called Esther to be handed an opportunity.

The same divine act of opportunity caused Hophni and Phinehas, the sons of Eli to misbehave just for Samuel to become the priest.

God sometimes creates situations that only you and I,the common and often disregarded can solve and suddenly we become heros.

When the king had a dream in Daniel 2,it was just to offer the opportunity for Daniel to gain favor. This is because the king’s astrologers and magicians could not interprete this dream as in the past.Daniel quickly realised it was God at work and said: “Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever; wisdom and power are his. He changes times and seasons; he deposes kings and raises up others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning.
Daniel 2:20‭-‬21 NIV

What God expects from us is to be prepared both spiritually and physically to take up the opportunities He presents to us. Most of us are usually ill prepared to take up our God given opportunities. We even give up mid way when there emerge challenges along the way.
Even though David had been anointed ,he faced many oppositions until he eventually accended the throne.
When a door of opportunity is opened for us,we need to fight with prayer and excellence to enter-“because a great door for effective work has opened to me, and there are many who oppose me”
1 Corinthians 16:9 NIV

When we eventually get up there, God expect us to deliver with excellence and remember always that it is He that gave us the opportunity-“Now then, tell my servant David, ‘This is what the Lord Almighty says: I took you from the pasture, from tending the flock, and appointed you ruler over my people Israel.
2 Samuel 7:8 NIV

Beloved, I pray that God will open new doors of opportunities for us even as we serve Him with all faithfulness. When we get up there eventually, may we remember always that “He putteth down one, and He setteth up another”. May we also deliver with the diligence that is required.

Prayer:Set me up with opportunities oh Lord.

I love you all and may God bless you.

Regards,

Pastor Asante
